Biography

Bill Haas was a promising 19-year-old first baseman/outfielder with immense power, selected by the New York Mets from the Los Angeles Dodgers organization for $30,000 at the end of the 1963 season. Despite a stellar minor league record, he never played a major league game for the Mets, retiring by 1966 due to demotions and frustration.
